Cabo da Roca (Azóia, 3km)
Cabo da Roca is the westernmost spot on the Eu­ro­pe­an con­ti­nent. It ist located in striking distance to Quinta do Cabo, 140m above sea level. The por­tu­gu­ese national poet Luís de Camões described this pla­ce with the words:
"Aqui… onde a terra se acaba e o mar co­me­ça"
"Here…where the land ends and the sea be­gins"


Praia da Ursa (Azóia, 3km)
Right next to Cabo da Roca there is the only on foot reachable drea­min­gly romantic beach "Praia da Ur­sa". A special spot, just minutes away from Quinta do Cabo.


Praia da Adraga (Almoçageme, 7km)
This beach is located at the end of a valley be­low the beautiful village of Almoçageme and with its im­pres­sive rock formations it is a regular backdrop for wed­dings. The res­tau­rant at this beach is a (secret) tip for lovers of fresh fish and seafood.

Convento dos Capuchos (Colares, 8km)
The Convento dos Capuchos Sintra, originally Con­vent of Santa Cruz, is a former monastery of the Ca­pu­chins in Sintra. It is lo­ca­ted in the na­ti­onal park Sintra-Cascais, about five ki­lo­metres south­west of Sintra and thus not far from the Quinta do Cabo.


Praia Grande (9km)
With over 100m the longest pool in Europe, surf schools, very good Por­tu­guese and in­ter­na­tio­nal cuisine, as well as small snacks offers the "Big Beach" on this coast.

Praia do Guincho (10km)
Apart from Nazaré, the Praia do Guincho is the sur­fers' para­dise of Por­tu­gal, but also sui­ta­ble for ba­thers, with white sand, waves and ex­cel­lent res­tau­rants.


Praia das Maçãs (Colares, 10km)
Praia das Maçãs is located just below the vil­lage of the same name. A family-friendly deep sandy beach with smaller waves, with res­tau­rants and snack bars.

Palácio Nacional da Pena (Sintra, 13km)
The Pena Palace is a Romanticist castle in São Pe­dro de Pena­fer­rim. The castle stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Moun­tains above the town of Sintra, and on a clear day it can be easily seen from Lisbon and much of its me­tro­po­li­tan area. It is a national monument and con­sti­tu­tes one of the major ex­pres­sions of 19th-century Ro­man­ti­cism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Se­ven Wonders of Portugal.


Castelo dos Mouros (Sintra, 13km)
The Castle of the Moors is a hilltop medieval castle located in the cen­tral Portuguese civil parish of San­ta Maria e São Miguel. Built by the Moors in the 8th and 9th centuries, it was an im­por­tant strategic point during the Re­con­quis­ta, and was taken by Chris­tian forces af­ter the fall of Lisbon in 1147. It is classi­fied as a National Monument, part of the Sintra Cul­tu­ral Land­scape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Parque da Pena (Sintra, 13km)
The exotic taste of the Romanticism was ap­pli­ed to the park as it was to the palace. King Ferdinand II ordered trees from di­ver­se, dis­tant lands to be plan­ted there. Those included North American Sequoia, Lawson's Cy­press, Magnolia and Western Redcedar, Chinese Gink­go, Japanese Cryp­to­me­ria, and a wide variety of ferns and tree ferns from Australia and New Zealand. The park has a labyrinthic system of paths and narrow roads, connecting the palace to the many points of interest through­out the park.


Palácio National da Sintra (15km)
The Palace of Sintra, also called Town Palace ("Pa­lá­cio da Vila") is lo­ca­ted in the town of Sintra, in the Lisbon District of Por­tu­gal. It is a pre­sent-day his­to­ric house museum.
It is the best-preserved medieval royal re­si­den­ce in Portugal, being in­ha­bi­ted more or less continuously from at least the early 15th century to the late 19th century. It is a sig­ni­fi­cant tourist attraction, and is part of the cul­tu­ral landscape of Sin­tra, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Estoril (16km)
The seaside resort on the Costa do Estoril has been one of the at­trac­tions of Portuguese tou­ri­sm since the early 20th century. After ca­si­nos were es­tab­li­shed here, the Casino Estoril was open­ed in 1931. Scenes for national and inter­natio­nal films re­pea­ted­ly have been scree­ned here, such as James Bond 007 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The casino is al­so known as a venue for a variety of cul­tu­ral e­vents, such as the tra­di­tio­nal Festival de Jazz do Estoril.


Belém (Lisboa, 33km)
In this Lisbon suburb you will find the famous Naval Mon­u­ment, the Be­lém Tower, the Je­ró­ni­mos Mo­nas­tery and the ba­kery known for its puff pastry "Pastéis de Belém".


Lisboa (37km)
Lisbon, "The City of Light" - The starting point for the dis­co­ve­ry of large parts of the world. - Liberal city on the river Tejo. - City of longing (sau­dade) and the ho­pe­ful­ly-sad Fado.
The main attractions are the Castle of São Jor­ge, the old town Alfama, the Baixa with its marble pavings, the nightlife-dis­tricts Bairro Alto and Chiado, the gre­at bridges, the christ statue, the World's Fair Gro­und, and so on.
